We Olive Walnut Creek opened in August 2009; the store is centrally located in downtown Walnut Creek, just north of Broadway Plaza on Main Street. We Olive carries a wide variety of California grown and certified artisan olive oils, each tasted and tested by the California Olive Oil Council. Look for the COOC seal to know your getting certified Extra Virgin olive oil. Most everything we have in the store is available to try so that way customers know what they are getting before they take home. Q. What is your favorite part about We Olive?
A. From the time customers walk into our store until they leave, being able to create a fun and educational experience by tasting our amazing California Olive Oils and Vinegars and fall in love with them as much as we do. We think of our store as not only a place for customers to buy quality extra virgin olive oil and local wines, but as a resource to inspire guests with new healthy recipe ideas to expand their culinary palate.
Q. What are your bestsellers and personal favorites?
A. Our customers love the Aged Balsamic Vinegar, Lemon Olive Oil, Peach White Balsamic Vinegar and our Arbequina Extra Virgin Olive Oil. A personal favorite is the Basil Olive Oil with Blackberry Balsamic Vinegar over salads, along with our well-known blood orange brownies.
Q. What is your favorite recipe or tip to share? Have you received any ideas from your guests in return?
A. We share this simple vinaigrette recipe with all of our guests:
Take equal parts Extra Virgin Olive Oil and Aged Balsamic Vinegar, add salt and pepper, shake in a jar and drizzle on the rim of the bowl and toss salad. Enjoy!

In addition, We Olive provides a wide selection of bath, body and skin care products made from olive oil. Most important of all, browse the store sampling your favorite products and enjoy the ambiance and experience that brings a feeling of Tuscany right to your local community. From soft & buttery, to peppery and robust; or choose a flavored oil infused with your favorite fruit or herb. Walk-up to our tasting bar where you can sample over 50 varieties of oils and vinegars, guided by a We Olive expert.
Q. Do you offer any special events or tastings at Walnut Creek?
A. Our resident chef, Lauren Mahlke, from Olive To Eat Catering, hosts cooking classes after hours in the store. The evening events feature exciting & easy-to-make recipes suitable for the beginner in the kitchen or an advanced foodie. Each month has a different theme with a 3-course tasting menu. We also offer wine-food pairing events where you can book an event for either that special occasion or just getting your friends together for a fun evening in Walnut Creek.
