Your New Favorite Dessert – Ice Cream + Olive Oil

If you’ve ever been to a We Olive event, you know we love olive oil on everything, including, and especially, ice cream. If you’ve tried this winning combination, you’re nodding your head. If you haven’t, put your preconceived notions aside and give it a shot. We’ve done the dirty work for you and tasted dozens of different combos to come up with the following favorites.

Best for Vanilla Gelato or Ice Cream – Robust Olive Oil

With creamy, sweet vanilla, we like an olive oil that has strong fruit flavor and a bit of grassy and peppery notes. Try We Olive Organic Tuscan Olive Oil.

 Upgrade:  A sprinkling of coarse sea salt really makes the pairing sing!

Chocolate Ice Cream or Gelato – Citrus-Infused Olive Oil or Medium, Grassy Olive Oil

Rich chocolate ice cream needs strong flavors that won’t be overpowered by the chocolates deep flavor, which is why we like We Olive Blood Orange Olive Oil to add a sweet citrus hit for balance. A medium-bodied, grassy olive oil like We Olive Koroneiki Extra Virgin Olive Oil is also delicious.

Upgrade: Try adding We Olive Blood Orange Balsamic with the olive oil for a concentrated kick of tangy sweetness!

Vanilla Frozen Yogurt – Peach White Balsamic Vinegar

While a standard EVOO worked really nicely on fro-yo, we loved the tart and tangy We Olive Peach White Balsamic Vinegar as a topping for this treat. We Olive’s Pineapple White Balsamic Vinegar works just a well.

Upgrade: Try adding a drizzle of We Olive Basil Olive Oil for an herbal upgrade!

Strawberry Sorbet – Lemon Olive Oil

The tart, refreshing sorbet was natural match for We Olive’s Lemon Olive Oil, which is both bright and sweet. The combination has summer written all over it.

Upgrade : Add a dash of We Olive Aged Balsamic for a decadent twist!
