Recipe By Chef Lauren Mahlke

This dish is so versatile it can be served with brunch topped with mascarpone or ricotta cheese or with vanilla ice cream as a winter dessert. Roasting in the cinnamon and clove We Olive Mulled Spice Balsamic Vinegar adds a bakeshop essence for a sweet and tart dish. I only eat ripe pears as a snack so this is a great recipe to use up your not quit ripe pears.

Serves 4

  • 4 pears sliced in half lengthwise core and seeds remove.
  • 1 tsp of cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup of We Olive Mulled Spice Balsamic Vinegar
Directions

Preheat oven to 400*
In a non-reactive bowl stir cinnamon and Mulled Balsamic with a fork. Toss sliced pears so they are completely glazed in balsamic.
Arrange pears, cut side down, in a baking dish.
Roast the pears until caramelized, turning them over half way through baking about 20-25 minutes.
Fill core with your choice of cheese or ice cream and before serving Drizzle remaining balsamic mixture on top of pears.
