Get to know We Olive Reno Owner, Alysia Peters with a little Q&A.
Tell us a little about yourself.
Greetings from Reno! Growing up working in my family’s business instilled in me a strong work ethic and belief in entrepreneurship. However, my early adulthood took me on a slightly different path when I decided to pursue my Master’s Degree in Public Administration. This decision led me into a myriad of professional opportunities in non-profit work, education, and state politics. After two years of serving as the Executive Assistant at the Nevada State Senate, I felt a deep desire to return to my family roots as a small business owner. As a self-proclaimed foodie and wino, We Olive & Wine Bar is a perfect fit for me!
Tell us how you became a part of We Olive.
My insatiable passion for travel initially took me across the United States, and ultimately around the world. Yet, while vacationing in Paso Robles, California, I visited the local We Olive, and was instantly drawn in by the same warm and welcoming atmosphere I remember experiencing in Italy. Like many of my generation, I am encouraged and excited by the prospect of living a healthier lifestyle. The many health benefits of olive oil are now known far and wide. Therefore, by becoming a store owner, I am given the opportunity to share We Olive’s unparalleled educational and culinary experience with the Reno-Tahoe community.
What sort of experience do you offer your guests?
We Olive & Wine Bar Reno is dedicated to offering every guest an inspiring experience of fresh and unique food items, hand-picked boutique wines, an intimate uplifting atmosphere, and outstanding customer service. Through our educational tastings, food and wine pairing dinners, spa parties, and other community-focused events, we promise to keep our guests engaged and excited about coming back to We Olive as part of their weekly ritual.
What is your favorite We Olive product?
One of my favorite We Olive products is the Peach White Balsamic Vinegar. Its fruity goodness is absolutely fabulous in a champagne cocktail, as an olive oil and balsamic salad dressing, or even drizzled over vanilla ice cream. Yum!
