Ascolano Extra Virgin Olive Oil

ascolano-v01

Made with Ascolano olives from Corning, CA, 100% hand picked certified Extra Virgin Olive Oil.

Tasting Notes Big tropical aroma of pineapple, kiwi and peaches. Highly fragrant. The nose alone makes this olive oil standout from all others. Tastes of pineapple, ripe olive fruit and a bit of stone fruit on the front of the palate. Medium pungency that is long-lasting and makes for a pleasant finish. This is an olive oil that hits all the senses!

About Ascolano Olives Ascolano olives are a varietal that originated in Italy. Now, grown here in California, the olives are very large and require hand picking. Ascolano olives have one of the lowest yields of olive oil, in terms on tonnage. Because it does not yield as much oil as other varietals, it is not cost effective for farmers, and therefore, not widely planted. The oil is often used in blends. Because it is so pricey, we rarely have Ascolano available in bulk. This is a big treat for us!
