The Paloma is a classic Mexican cocktail that is fantastically refreshing on hot days. We like to bring a little heat to the traditional recipe with this Spicy Paloma cocktail that includes a bit of We Olive Jalapeno Olive Oil and fresh, sliced jalapenos! We adapted this recipe from one we like from the New York Times.
Salt, for rim (optional)
2 ½ ounces tequila
1/2 ounce We Olive Jalapeno Olive Oil
Squeeze of lime juice
Grapefruit soda (like Squirt or Jarritos), to top
Lime wedge and jalapeno slices, for garnish
Dip the rim of a highball glass in a touch of Jalapeno Olive Oil and then in salt, if you like. Fill a cocktail shaker with ice and add tequila, Jalapeno Olive Oil and lime juice, shake well until the olive oil is well combined. Pour into the highball glass and then top with grapefruit soda. Stir ingredients together gently. Garnish with a wedge of lime and jalapeno slices.
